A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) reached the spot to probe the incident.

Two jawans of the special operations group of Jammu and Kashmir police also received injuries and were undergoing treatment in the Government Medical College hospital in Jammu.

"In a bid to escape, terrorists tossed grenades at security forces when the truck was intercepted".

Police said the terrorists came to execute a big plan which had been foiled.

A large number of weapons, including 11 AK-47 rifles, three pistols and 29 grenades, were recovered from them.

The terrorists were helped at the launchpad near Sialkot, Pakistan by one Mohammad Rauf who is believed to be their handler and head of the JeM Sialkot module.

Singh also said that the truck driver is absconding and the police has launched a manhunt for him.

Babar Iftikhar said that "mastermind" Colonel Rajesh held four meetings with the representatives of terrorist outfits at Afghan embassy for planning terrorist attacks in Pakistan. This kind of seizure is unprecedented. It is possible that they were planning a big attack. Reacting to the success of the security forces, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had said, "No outside force can derail us from our mission of peace and progress".

Earlier in the day, Pakistan strongly condemned the extra-judicial killing of four more innocent Kashmiri youth in a fake encounter in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir by occupation forces.

He further wrote that the area is being sanitized.

The terrorists were reportedly trapped and there was gun firing from both sides. We are providing them collective security and they are being put up in secure areas.

Lt Governor hailed the valour and quick reaction of the security forces in foiling the nefarious design of the terrorists.

"Our security forces have once again displayed utmost bravery and professionalism".

The Lt Governor was accompanied by Advisor, RR Bhatnagar; Chief Secretary, BVR Subrahmanyam; Financial Commissioner Health, Atal Dulloo; IGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh, and Principal GMC Jammu, Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma among other senior officers.

CRPF and police personnel moved to search the vehicle and came under fire of the terrorists hiding in the truck.They retaliated resulting in an encounter.
