Australia womens vs India three-match ODI cricket series postponed indefinitely

Australia womens vs India three-match ODI cricket series postponed indefinitely”

Australia captain Tim Paine Tuesday said the signs were good for David Warner's return from injury, in a glimmer of hope after another mediocre batting display against India in the second Test.

A three-match one-day global series between the Australia and India women's cricket teams has been postponed indefinitely and likely won't be played until 2022.

In a press release, Cricket Australia added that they are planning to expand the ODI tour to include an additional three Twenty20 Internationals as well.

On Tuesday, Cricket Australia had made a decision to retain Sydney as the venue for the third Test, ending speculation that the game could move to Melbourne because of stringent Covid-19 border restrictions that would have affected the players' movement for the fourth match in Brisbane.

India beat Australia in stunning fashion at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in four days, coming back from the shocking debacle of the day-night Test in Adelaide. "Looks like, similar way he wants to play, wants to take the game on, which as a bowler provides opportunities, some days it will come off, some days it won't", he said.

Media reports have claimed that pacer T Natarajan, who was asked by the team management to stay in Australia for the Border-Gavaskar series, will make his debut in the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

India women's tour of Australia has been postponed to next season, Cricket Australia confirmed on Thursday (December 31).

Australia have dropped opener Joe Burns and recalled David Warner and uncapped batsman Will Pucovski for the final two Tests against India next month. Apart from the earlier schedule of 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is are also added in the series which is moved to next season and will serve both sides in the build-up to the World Cup 2022, which will be held in New Zealand in March and April.

Sources quoted by ANI said Umesh will now look at recovering in time for the England series.
