BCCI president and former India captain Sourav Ganguly was on Saturday admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata after he complained of chest pain. Before taking over as the BCCI chief in 2019, the 48 year old served as president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). The former India captain is now "stable" and "responding well" according to BCCI secretary Jay Shah. "Praying for your quick and speedy recovery @SGanguly99", Ganguly's former India teammate Virender Sehwag tweeted. I've spoken to his family. "He is now in a stable condition", the International Cricket Council (ICC) tweeted. The cricket fraternity too queued up on social media to wish good health to "Dada", as Ganguly is fondly known.

"Dada (Sourav) complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital". He is scheduled to undergo further tests along with angioplasty.

The BCCI president was last seen in New Delhi where he was present for the inauguration of the late Arun Jaitley's statue at the DDCA premise. He had stated that he went to meet the state's Governor upon invitation.
