Matthew Wade 'fully expects' to play fourth Test in Brisbane

Matthew Wade 'fully expects' to play fourth Test in Brisbane”

It is reported that the five players have gotten permission to travel with the Indian squad from Melbourne to Sydney on Monday.

Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Navdeep Saini and Prithvi Shaw have been now allowed to train separately from the rest of the team.

The video showing the five players around the table came from the Twitter account of Navaldeep Singh.

It is to be noted that Singh also claimed to have hugged Rishabh Pant, who was also present at the restaurant in Melbourne. "The players are very clear that they didn't breach any protocol".

The BCCI is now investigating whether sanctions have to be leveled against the players.

"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Australia (CA) were alerted to a video post on social media that purported to show Rohit, Pant, Gill, Shaw, and Saini eating at an indoor venue in Melbourne on New Year's Day".

However, the report wasn't backed by any statement from either of the two boards.

He admitted that Pant didn't hug him, and that he was only enthralled by seeing the Indian cricketers.

Both teams are investigating to determine whether bio-secure protocols for the tour have been breached.

The isolation protocols were put in place after consulting with medical teams.

The Queensland government is yet to comment on whether the alleged breaches of the bubble by Indian players would jeopardise the teams' ability to play the fourth Test in Brisbane in any case.

With reports coming in that the Indian squad is not too keen to travel to Queensland if strict quarantine protocols need to be followed, the state's Health Shadow Minister Ros Bates also said that rules need to be followed. They are, however, allowed a walk around the cities where they are playing.

Cricket Australia's statement doesn't specify any time-frame for the investigation but it has been learnt that the Indian team is not amused by the turn of events.

The third Test begins next Wednesday.

CA is expected to announce a redistribution of tickets for the third Test on Sunday, allowing patrons who bought them before the latest Sydney outbreak to be refunded.

It is understood that the controversy has not gone down well with the travelling team and it is not amused with how Cricket Australia has so far handled the issue.

Rohit had recently completed 14 days of hard quarantine in Sydney and started training in Melbourne only a couple of days back.
