Umesh Yadav ruled out of Test series

Umesh Yadav ruled out of Test series”

Following an impressive performance for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2020, he was added as a net bowler in the India touring party for Australia.

Shami's replacement Mohammed Siraj impressed in his debut in Melbourne where he picked five wickets and proved his ability to bowl long spells.

New Delhi: Team India's fast bowler T Natarajan has got the biggest deal on New Year from the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

If Natarajan does make a debut in either Sydney or Brisbane, he will be the first left-arm seamer to turn out in Test cricket for India since Zaheer Khan played his last Test in February 2014 in Wellington. "I wish him all the best and if he does get the opportunity we know he is comfortable he knows what he has to do", he added. But I am not saying he is going to be immediately successful.

"I am not too sure, you all must be knowing about his Ranji trophy stats and how he delivers day in day out".

"I think they have been very disciplined in their bowling and their plans with both spin and pace. It will depend on how he grabs the opportunity (if it comes)", said Vasu while speaking with Indian Express.

Notably, Shardul Thakur is likely to replace Yadav in XI.

Taking a cue from the Sydney Test of India's previous tour Down Under (2018/19), India could also go with two pacers and three spinners. "The fast bowler will not recover completely ahead of the remaining two Test matches and has been ruled out of the series", BCCI Secretary Jay Shah stated in a media release.

The Indian squad will be leaving for Sydney on January 5 to play the New Year's Test. India leveled the Test series after their brilliant display in the Boxing Day Test match.

Varun Chakravarthy's shoulder injury first paved the way for him in the T20I squad and then was added in the ODI squad only a few hours before the first match of the series. Meanwhile, for Shami, India already has Navdeep Saini in the squad but could add another medium of backup.
