Demi Lovato 'Working On Something Special' After Condemning Capitol Riots

Demi Lovato 'Working On Something Special' After Condemning Capitol Riots”

"Here we are", Demi wrote on social media. The song, which she debuted at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards, was directed at President Donald Trump.

Last year, Demi released the political track, "Commander in Chief", which features everything she would love to say to Trump if she had the chance.

It wouldn't be the first time she has taken aim at the state of US politics through her music. In October of 2020, she released a song called "Commander in Chief" in which, she sings "If I did the things you do/ I couldn't sleep/ Seriously, do you even know the truth?/ We're in a state of crisis, people are dying/ While you line your pockets deep".

The riots took place as the US Congress convened to certify Joe Biden's victory in the November US Presidential election.

"She concluded her post by using the hashtag, "#impeachtrumptonight". On January 2, 2021, Braun tweeted simply, "Demi is in the studio", with a pair of emoji eyes.

Demi Lovato is in the process of channeling her anger into her music.

Taking to her Twitter, the singer wrote, "My heart is broken".

Lovato shared a screengrab of a post by a Black Lives Matter account and said it made her sad to think about how naive she had been to believe such events would not be possible.

Lovato tied her statement to herself.

Not only is Lovato showing where she stands, but she told her followers she's going to record a song about the event.

Despite asking fans to not ask about her upcoming album, she also added that she is in the studio working on new music: "I'm in the studio working on something special after today's assault on democracy".
