There are now 358 people in hospital, up nine patients from last Monday, with 72 people in ICU.

The active case count in the region has stayed the same as yesterday and remains at 497.

Nine more people across the province have died from the virus, boosting BC's death toll to 1,019.

Acknowledging the impacts the COVID-19 pandemic has had on people's lives and mental health, Henry and Dix noted the importance of staying active and connected with others safely. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

Approximately 87 per cent of all confirmed cases in B.C. - 51,144 people - have recovered.

On Monday, health officials indicated they expected B.C. would run out of Pfizer doses by the end of the day, but that more shipments of both vaccines should be arriving soon.

Senior government sources with knowledge of the measures being considered are confirming that an overnight curfew has not been recommended by public health officials.

"Things are different than what they were before the pandemic".
