DPD 'pausing' deliveries from United Kingdom to Ireland due to Brexit”

The supply chain between Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom is a "boat breakdown" away from collapse as a result of the post-Brexit regulatory border, the UK's Road Haulage Association (RHA) has warned the British government.

In the letter, the supermarkets urged the Government to "work with us to ensure the long term sustainability of the Northern Irish grocery market", calling for more time to be agreed with the European Union to sort out a system.

"We accept that clear progress needs to be made by (April 1st)".

The supermarket CEOs called on Mr Gove to create a dedicated working group to co-ordinate government agencies to integrate customs and food controls.
