Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gets next-gen patch to improve performance

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gets next-gen patch to improve performance”

Earlier this week, Respawn Entertainment rolled out a new patch for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, offering a selection of next-gen optimisations for anyone playing the game via backwards compatibility on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. It sounds like that's all we can expect for the Xbox Series S version of the game, which isn't really a surprise considering that the Series S lags behind the Series X and PlayStation 5 in terms of total power.

Over on PlayStation 5, the framerate has been increased from 45 to 60 FPS.

Dynamic resolution in the range of 1512p to 2160p. After the application of the patch (1.12), the game renders on PS5 at the maximum resolution that was already reached on PS4 Pro (1200p), with the exception that this time a fairly stable ceiling of 60 FPS is established. However, the dynamic resolution feature will be disabled on this console once the game is updated. On Xbox Series S, expect to see framerate go up to 60FPS, which is a slight jump over the 45FPS it used to be set at.

More news: Recovered COVID-19 patients could still transmit the virus, warn scientists

Specifically, the dynamic resolution on Xbox Series X offers "in the range of 1080p to 1440p" in Performance mode.

Is "Jedi: Fallen Order" the last "Star Wars" game EA will release? "We are proud of our long-standing collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, which will continue for years to come", the game publisher said.
