Harbhajan Singh Announces End Of CSK Contract

Harbhajan Singh Announces End Of CSK Contract”

Harbhajan Singh on Wednesday announced the end of his contract with Indian Premier League team Chennai Super Kings (CSK). CSK are expected to release some of their players before the auction to rebuild the team. The 40-year-old bowler had been a part of CSK for the last two seasons, but he did not play for CSK in IPL 2020 due to personal reasons. However, veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh has split from Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Harbhajan said playing for CSK was a "great experience" and he made attractive memories which he will remember fondly.

While former Australia all-rounder Watson retired from competitive cricket post IPL 2020, off-spinner Harbhajan gave the previous season in the UAE a miss due to personal reasons.

According to PTI, the three-time winners made a decision to continue with Raina in order to bolster the batting order that struggled during a forgettable last season, which culminated in a seventh-place finish and a league-stage elimination for the first time since the tournament's inception in 2008.

In 160 IPL games in his career, Harbhajan managed to pick up 150 wickets at an impressive average of 26.44 with a brilliant economy rate of 7.05 in his career.

"We will have the players' retention till January 21 and the trading window for the franchises closes on February 4", Brijesh Patel, the IPL governing council chairman, told news agency PTI earlier this month. CSK management has given a lot of support and I want to wish them a good IPL season.

The list of foreign players retained includes Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and Jofra Archer. According to the latest reports from the team Kedar Jadhav, Piyush Chawla and Murali Vijay are most likely to be dropped.

Harbhajan Singh started his Indian Premier League career as part of the Kings XI Punjab franchise.
