DeAndre Yedlin leaves Newcastle for Galatasaray

DeAndre Yedlin leaves Newcastle for Galatasaray”

The 21 year-old remains well thought of in north London, but he was not getting enough competitive game action and there is a view the move to the North East of England will help the player mature on and off the pitch.

Newcastle are hoping to sort out the issue soon and look to push through a deal in the final hours of the transfer window.

Yedlin made six Premier League appearances this season and played 125 times for the club in total. He has been limited to two brief substitute appearances in the Premier League in 2021.

Reiss Nelson wrote on his Instagram story "I will miss you" as his Arsenal teammate Joe Willock closes in on a move to Newcastle.

"He has made a very decent impact at Arsenal after coming through the ranks and to make almost 80 appearances for the club by the age of 21 says much about his development, ability and character".

'He is very keen to come here and test himself and he'll be a great addition to the squad'.

All of that will prepare Willock to become a better player regardless of whether he breaks into the Arsenal team in the near future or not. The Gunners loaned Sead Kolasinac to Schalke and William Saliba to Nice, while Mesut Ozil, Sokratis and Mustafi all left on free transfers.

Newcastle made enquiries for several midfielders on deadline day but have finally settled on doing a deal to sign Willock on loan.
