New COVID Cases, 1 New Death”

The new numbers pushed the rolling averages to 659 cases and 20 deaths a day.

On Wednesday, the Florida Department of Health in Leon County (DOH Leon) announced the detection of two cases associated with the COVID-19 variant that first emerged in the United Kingdom.

There are now 4,542 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 7,080 people are under active public health monitoring as a result of identified exposure to known cases.

Active cases went up two and now stand at 128. The remaining test-positive individuals are recovering at home in self-isolation.

A total of 81 students and eight staff members who are in that person's cohort were all tested to see if the virus had spread, and all of them tested negative, according to the statement from Henry and Dix.

Hospitalizations rose slightly. There were 47 people hospitalized with COVID-19, up from 44 on Tuesday, and seven people hospitalized awaiting test results, up from five on Tuesday.

So far, 100% of the 1B COVID-19 vaccine received by LCGHD and Lake Health have been administered or scheduled to be administered, the district said. "While more COVID-19 vaccines are on the way, supplies are still very limited". The efforts you are making, combined with the immunization of our long-term care residents and workers, are making a difference.

A total of 1,234 people in B.C. have lost their lives due to COVID-19 since the pandemic began out of 68,780 confirmed cases.

Fewer cases is a welcome sign for all of us and makes it all the more important to keep going with the fundamentals of staying local, staying small and staying safe right now. Let's all continue to do our part, knowing that our individual and collective efforts are working.
