Britain's Prince Philip does not have COVID-19 and his admission to hospital on Tuesday evening was precautionary and not an emergency admission, a royal source said.

A palace source also confirmed it was not Covid- related and that the stay in hospital was "purely precautionary".

"The Duke is expected to remain in hospital for a few days of observation and rest", a palace spokesman said.
