Covid pandemic: Biden to order all U.S. adults be eligible for vaccine”

"This law is not the end of our efforts".

Biden has said President Barack Obama's administration, in which Biden was vice president, failed to adequately educate the public about the benefits of its economic recovery plan.

The White House invited Congressional Democrat leaders, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, to the event.

Similarly, for the first time in Gallup's tracking of the COVID-19 pandemic, 60 percent of Americans believe the coronavirus situation is getting better - a record-high level of positive sentiment, which "likely reflects the steep decline in new COVID-19 cases in the late January and early February".

Mr. Biden thanked the Democratic members of Congress for passing the bill, singling out Senator Bernie Sanders and Congressman Jim Clyburn for their support for the bill. He and Harris are slated to appear together in Atlanta on Friday.

"I owe you, Chuck".

He added the wealthy would have to start "paying their fair share" to help the "folks living on the edge". In his Inaugural Address, the president spoke of the coronavirus crisis through the lens of unity and shared sacrifice: "My fellow Americans, in the work ahead of us, we will need each other".

Jill Biden will be joined by New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy on a tour Monday of Samuel Smith Elementary School in Burlington, where she is expected to talk about how the plan will help families and communities, and highlight steps the school took to reopen. Democrats provided the votes and Biden signed it into law last week.

Harris also cast three tie-breaking votes in the 50-50 Senate in her role as president of the Senate. The package provides $400 billion for $1,400 direct payments to most Americans, $350 billion in aid to state and local governments, an expansion of the child tax credit and increased funding for COVID-19 vaccine distribution.

"Finally, hope is on the horizon and help is on the way", an ebullient Schumer said in brief remarks, raising his fists in celebration as he repeated the phrase "help is on the way".

The poll also measured approval of President Joe Biden's handling of the pandemic, which now stands at 62% approval, and 30% disapproval.

President Joe Biden is set to order USA states to make all adults eligible for Covid-19 vaccinations.

Biden makes his first trip promoting the relief plan Tuesday when he goes to Delaware County, a key suburban Philadelphia jurisdiction in the eastern state of Pennsylvania that he carried over former President Donald Trump in the November election.

During his speech, Biden also condemned surging hate crimes against Asian Americans over the past year.
