New York Governor Cuomo's Aides Reportedly Receive Subpoenas in Sexual Harassment Probe

New York Governor Cuomo's Aides Reportedly Receive Subpoenas in Sexual Harassment Probe”

Staffers have been asked to produce documents as well as submit themselves for interviews, according to people familiar with the matter.

A woman from upstate New York said during a Monday afternoon press conference that she felt like she was being "manhandled" as New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) grabbed her face and planted a kiss on her cheek.

They spoke before a big picture of Cuomo that was infused with an image of Trump, who was accused by more than two dozen women of sexual misconduct in the past.

"The allegations against the governor connect to a pattern throughout his entire tenure of abusing power", she said.

Paul Fishman, a lawyer representing Cuomo's administration, said the subpoenas should come as no surprise in the probe.

The office is requesting documents or another form of hard evidence that could give insight into the investigation.

"That happens in every investigation, and it's wildly premature to speculate what it means", he added. "Good, thorough, and fair investigations take time", he said.

The demonstration was organized on behalf of women workers who say they are fed up with having to deal with harassment on the job, and the culture of tolerance trickles down from Albany.

DeRosa joined Cuomo's staff in 2013 after working as deputy chief of staff to then-Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. In 2017 she became secretary to the governor overseeing his Executive Chamber and other state agencies.

The state's top Democrat, a national star during the early months of the pandemic, compared calls for his resignation to "cancel culture" and insinuated some of his accusers may have political motivations during a recent call with reporters.

Boylan first made her claims about Cuomo in December, calling his administration "the most toxic team environment" and saying that she has held many jobs in her life, and "waitressing at Friendly's as a teenager was an infinitely more respectful environment".

The governor has denied any wrongdoing in the nursing home scandal, as well.

Andrew Cuomo is resisting pressure to resign following the flurry of sexual misconduct accusations. When she met the governor inside her home, Vill says he forcibly kissed her on each cheek and said "you are attractive".
