Biden dog bites second victim at White House

Biden dog bites second victim at White House”

Earlier this month, Major also caused a minor injury to someone at the White House, and both dogs, Major and Champ, headed to DE for what White House press secretary Jen Psaki called a "previously planned trip".

It's unclear when exactly the incident occurred, but an image shared on social media by Reuters correspondent Jeff Mason shows Major sporting a leash and being walked on the grounds shortly past 5 p.m. local time. "Out of an abundance of caution, the individual was seen by WHMU and then returned to work".

The president adopted Major from the Delaware Humane Society in 2018 after serving as vice president under former President Barack Obama.

Major, the President's three-year-old rescue german shepherd, was walking in the White House South Lawns when he nipped a National Park Service Employee. At the time, officials tossed up the incident to Major being startled by someone he did not know. Biden has said that Major received training while at his home in DE before returning to the White House grounds last week. Yet, First Lady Jill Biden's spokesman Michael LaRosa clarified the pets' departure.

Major is the younger of the Bidens' two German Shepherds and the White House's first ever rescue dog.

Earlier this month, Major bit a security staff member, according to reports.

Major had returned to the White House just the week before following his first biting incident that caused a minor injury to a US Secret Service Employee on March 8.

The President said Major was being trained in DE but disputed the idea that the pup had been sent away after the incident.

Mr Biden explained the biting by saying that the dog had "turned a corner, there's two people he doesn't know at all, you know, and they move and he moves to protect".

Joe Biden is taking heat after his dog bit another White House employee.

He went on to say: "Eighty-five per cent of the people [at the White House] love him".

He said the dogs went to Wilmington because the first couple was going to be out of town.
