CDC Says Fully Vaccinated People Can Travel”

However, the TSA said it was not lifting restrictions that bar most-non US citizens from the United States if they have recently traveled to China, Brazil, South Africa, and most of Europe.

According to the CDC, almost 100 million people in the USA - or about 30% of the population - have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

With Easter just around the corner, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released new guidelines on how Americans can safely celebrate amid the coronavirus pandemic.

For those who are not considered fully-vaccinated, the CDC's guidance remains to limit travel to necessary trips only, get tested one to three days before a trip and three to five days after a trip, and quarantining before and after the trip.

- Fully vaccinated people can travel within the US, without getting tested for the coronavirus or quarantining.

The CDC did not revise guidance for non-vaccinated people.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) said the highest daily total of people at US airports was 1.57 million on Sunday last.

- Fully vaccinated people do not need to self-quarantine after returning to the United States, unless required by a state or local jurisdiction. People should still wear a mask, socially distance and avoid crowds, the agency says. Plus, almost all worldwide USA air visitors still need to get a negative Covid-19 test before traveling to the United States. They do not need to quarantine. Some destination countries may require a negative Covid-19 test for entry. In early March, the agency said they may safely gather with small groups from other households without wearing masks or physically distancing, even if those people have not yet had their shots. The agency cited "recent studies" of real-world evidence proving vaccines work outside of a clinical trial environment.

CDC also said those who are not fully vaccinated should avoid non-essential domestic travel.

This latest guidance offers another step toward resuming normal activity for those who have received both doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna shots or one shot of the single-dose vaccine from Johnson & Johnson.

The U.S. began its vaccine rollout in mid-December.
