Biden, experts say it’s too early to abandon social distancing”

202, a Georgia law that President Joe Biden criticized earlier this week, saying that it will restrict voting access for residents of the state.

"I feel like I'm finally brining epidemic to an end", said Ryan Willens.

"You've got to prioritize somehow".

President Biden is expected to announce an April 19 deadline for all states to open eligibility to individuals ages 16 and up. He has a goal of 200 million by April 30, which is also his 100th day in office.

All 50 states have at least announced when they plan to make vaccines available to anyone who wants one. However, both Moderna and Pfizer produced two-dose shots as part of the program that began getting distributed in December, although Trump fell short of his goal of 20 million vaccinations distributed by the end of 2020.

"That would be a setback for public health, but that would be a psychological setback, too", he said during an interview with the National Press Club.

Biden and many of his advisers have warned against reopening the economy too quickly and easing mask mandates, at the risk of driving a fresh surge in virus cases. "The real question is how much death, disease, and misery are we going to see between now and then".

Less than a month after directing states to expand eligibility to all adults by May 1, Biden is expected to change that deadline to April 19.

Addressing reporters, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said: "The government is not now, nor will be, supporting a system that requires Americans to carry a credential".

At least a dozen states opened eligibility to anyone 16 and older on Monday alone, while New Jersey and OR announced this week that all residents 16 and older will become eligible on April 19.

Cumulatively over the past three weeks the administration has sent out 90 million doses of the vaccine, Psaki said. What we do now is going to determine how many people we " ll save or lose in the month of April and May and June before we get to July 4th", Biden said.
