Will you watch or attend the 2021 All-Star Game?”

MLB Commissioner Robert Manfred on Friday ordered the sport to relocate its 2021 All-Star Game after Georgia instituted the new voting rules, which Republican politicians have endorsed but critics have said aim to suppress voting among Black people and other racial minorities who tend to vote Democratic.

On Friday, as Major League Baseball announced that Atlanta no longer would play host to the All-Star game, Colorado Rockies pitcher Jon Gray was asked if the hitter-friendly Coors Field would be a suitable replacement.

"Georgia has 17 days of in-person early voting including two optional Sundays, Colorado has 15", Kemp said in an appearance on Fox News.

Supporters of the new law have said it merely ensures election integrity and stamps out potential fraud, while critics have described it as a voter suppression tactic that would make it more hard for minorities, particularly people of color, to vote, citing how it reduces ballot access in urban communities that lean Democratic.

Kemp and others also have said that Colorado requires photo identification to vote, which is false.

Colorado law requires voters to show some form of non-photo identification when voting in person at the ballot box.

Major League Baseball moved the All-Star game after Biden told ESPN that he would "strongly support" moving the July 13 game because of the law he described as "Jim Crow on steroids".

Kemp also called President Biden's appearance at the NCAA championship game in IN "so hypocritical" as the governor said the state is "the birthplace for the photo ID requirement".

Acceptable forms of identification include a valid Colorado's driver's license or valid ID card issued by the Department of Revenue, a valid US passport, a copy of a recent utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or other government documents.

It should also be noted that Georgia's new voting law is close to 100 pages and deals with far more than voter-ID requirements. And the state requires that voters provide a driver's license number, a copy of a state identification card or a Social Security number each time they vote by mail. Instead, the state mails a ballot to the person's home, and then matches their signature against a database when the ballot is returned.

Colorado voters are also less likely to need sustenance while waiting to vote, since they rarely encounter lines.

In addition to appearing hypocritical, MLB's decision may have a disproportionate effect on minority-owned businesses in Atlanta, which will lose revenues from the All-Star Game to Denver, Colorado. "It would be good for baseball and good for Colorado".
