Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez raises security concerns after Marjorie Taylor Greene confrontation

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez raises security concerns after Marjorie Taylor Greene confrontation”

Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., who has been among the most outspoken Republicans about his concerns for the future of his party, came to Ocasio-Cortez's defense.

Moments later, Greene began to question her colleague on why she chose to support "terrorist" groups such as Black Lives Matter and USA anti-fascist movement Antifa, the Post's sources claim.

The Epoch Times reached out to Ocasio-Cortez's office for comment.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene pursued Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez down a corridor in the Capitol, accusing her of supporting terrorists and berating her "radical socialism", The Washington Post reported.

"@AOC "Ms. Defund The Police" wants to call the police for security bc she's afraid of debating with me about her socialist GND".

The controversial Greene has been needling Ocasio-Cortez since arriving in Washington, but Ocasio-Cortez has refused to engage with her. "Why do you support terrorists and antifa?"

This is not a new move for Greene, although one would hope that she wouldn't still be pulling stunts like this after having been elected to Congress.

Lauren Hitt, a spokesperson for Ocasio-Cortez, told the outlet that Greene "tried to begin an argument with Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez and when Rep. Ocasio-Cortez tried to walk away, Congresswoman Greene began screaming and called Rep. Ocasio-Cortez a terrorist sympathizer".

"It got so uncomfortable for AOC that she asked the "leadership and the Sergeant at Arms" to take real steps to make Congress a safe, civil place for all Members and staff - especially as many offices are discussing reopening".

Greene also referred to the "squad" of four liberal congresswomen of color and included Vice President Harris, who is also a woman of color, as a member of the "JihadSquad".

"This is beneath the dignity of a person serving in the Congress of the United States and is a cause for trauma and fear among members", Pelosi, D-Calif., told reporters during her weekly news conference.

After the exchange, Greene accused Ocasio-Cortez of cowardice.

According to those reporters, Greene shouted at her colleague twice, yelling, "Hey Alexandria!"

'They need to defend their legislation to the people.

"It's so beyond the pale that you wonder is it probably is a matter for the ethics committee". Greene challenged Ocasio-Cortez to a debate over the her Green New Deal plan in April, which Ocasio-Cortez turned down.

U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and U.S. Senator Ed Markey (D-Mass.) (R) speak during a press conference to announce Green New Deal legislation to promote clean energy programs outside the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., on February 7, 2019.
