Teen pushes bear to save dogs in viral video

Teen pushes bear to save dogs in viral video”

The CCTV video footage captured on Memorial Day shows the bear pawing at the family's service dog at least thrice while the other three puppies gathered around the part of the wall where the bear was propped on and continued barking.

"Do not push bears and do not get close to bears", she told KCAL-TV. The bear then turned its attention to one of the smaller dogs and had nearly picked it up when the teen, named Hailey, rushed out to save it.

Hailey grabs the smallest of her dogs and the rest run to safety. Morinico escaped with a small scratch, and she and all of her dogs are doing fine.

The bear sits on top of the fence, with two cubs hiding underneath. There are more than 110k comments on the video and has been liked by 5.6 million accounts since the video was first posted on Sunday, May 31.

The bears are common in communities near their natural habitats, like Bradbury, and in urban areas where they are seen those bears "pretty much use it as their home range", she said.

Suddenly, a woman rushes out and pushes the bear off the wall with her hands before grabbing the dogs and running inside. It was exactly at this moment, the young girl plunged into action and shoved the bear off the wall and scooped one of its tiny dogs and ran inside.

The video is a surveillance footage and it filmed on Memorial Day, the incident took place in US California.

"She just shoved that bear like it was a stuffed animal", one person wrote.

But she cautions others against trying similar stunts.

Brenda shared a video Hailey made, explaining what happened in the video and saying she lives in the mountains, so seeing a bear isn't too uncommon. "I have to protect the baby".

"I go over to the bear, I look it in the eyes and the first thing I think to do is push it. Push a bear, push an apex predator".

I didn't register in my head that it was a bear.

She added she doesn't think she pushed the bear that hard, just enough to make the bear lose her balance.

Luckily, Morinico walked away with just a scraped knee and a sprained finger.
