An Amtrak crew was moving the train into place when the engine derailed inside a tunnel approaching Track 4 about 5:30 a.m., according to WABC . Passengers should plan for delays and cancellations. NJ Transit reports that trains are now operating on or close to schedule. The Long Island Railroad said it is not affected by the derailment. At least three tracks have been subject to closure at any given time; work is focusing on six.
