Ref. NG/63D0On June 18, 2017, reports indicated that the Atlanta Police Department was searching for a Maryland mother who allegedly abandoned her four-year-old daughter at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
According to Sergeant Warren Pickard of the Atlanta Police Department, the woman left her child with a couple in the airport atrium, telling them she was going shopping. The incident occurred either late Thursday night or early Friday morning. No harm came to the child, who was taken into police custody while authorities sought a family member to care for her.
Investigators reported that the mother might have left the area in a rented white 2016 Nissan Versa with Florida license plates, possibly numbered HKNA25. At the time of the report, her motives, destination, and potential ties to Atlanta remained unknown.
