Mimicry Artist Kalabhavan Sajan Passes Away at 50

On June 19, 2017, dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi confirmed the death of mimicry and dubbing artist Kalabhavan Sajan. Sajan had been admitted to a medical college hospital due to severe liver disease.

Sajan began his career in the dubbing field by providing the voice for the late actor Sukumaran in the film Shibiram. He went on to work as a dubbing artist for nearly 20 films and various television serials. He was also credited with voicing villainous roles in multiple Malayalam remakes of Allu Arjun films.

At the time of his hospital admission, reports claimed that medical college authorities had failed to provide Sajan with a bed.

His passing also led to widespread confusion on social media, where rumor-mongers circulated news of his death alongside photos of parody artist turned actor Sajan Palluruthy. To clear up the mistaken identity, Sajan Palluruthy posted a video on Facebook from a film shooting location, confirming he was alive and asking people not to believe the hoax.
