Spider-Man Secret: Tom Holland's Man Thong Revelation

Ref. NG/DB78

At the July 2017 premiere of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” on Hollywood Boulevard, actor Tom Holland arrived inside a 2018 Audi A8 prototype. The vehicle featured a performer dressed as Spider-Man playing with a camera phone on its hood, while other performers did flips on top of Audi vehicles along the street. During the red carpet event, Holland’s younger brother interrupted an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

The film is set in Queens, New York, two months after the events of “Captain America: Civil War.” It follows 15-year-old Peter Parker as he attempts to prove himself worthy of joining the Avengers. Director Watts chose to omit traditional origin story elements, such as the spider bite and the death of Uncle Ben, focusing instead on the transition of a geeky teenager gaining superhuman powers. Observers noted that making the character younger made him more relatable.

Early reviews described the film as a colorful, fun adventure that integrated well into the Marvel Cinematic Universe without becoming bogged down by franchise building, though some noted it should not be heralded as a new standard for superhero films.

In addition to Holland, the film stars Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, Tony Revolori, Donald Glover, and Zendaya. Reports at the time indicated that one of the post-credits scenes would connect to broader elements within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
