Royal Sibling Gifted Kate Middleton A Necklace As Tribute To Princess Diana

Ref. NG/66D8

In 2013, following the birth of Prince George, the Duchess of Cambridge was gifted a personalized necklace by her sister. The gift was designed as a tribute to Princess Diana, continuing a royal family tradition of opting for simple engraved pendants over traditional pearls and gemstones.

According to representatives from the boutique Merci Maman, Prince Charles had previously given Princess Diana a similar necklace after the birth of Prince William. The Duchess of Cambridge’s necklace carries on this custom, featuring a gold-plated disc engraved with the words “George Alexander Louis.” The pendant also includes a smaller heart charm featuring the letter “W” for William, alongside a charm shaped like a little boy.

The owner of the boutique reported that the Duchess’s sister was a regular customer at the establishment. After the custom piece was completed and delivered, she sent a thank-you note to the shop.
