Shocking! Rajkot Professor Throws Sick Mother Off Terrace, Killing Her

In December 2017, a woman died after falling from the terrace of an apartment building in the Gandhigram area of Rajkot, India.

According to reports at the time, the family initially claimed the death was an accident, stating that the victim lost her balance and fell because of a brain disease. However, the police investigation changed direction after authorities received an anonymous letter. Karanjraj Vaghela, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for Zone II, stated that investigators subsequently checked closed-circuit television footage from the apartment building. The recording showed the victim’s son was with her on the terrace when she fell. It also revealed that she was unable to walk or climb the terrace wall on her own.

Police noted that the victim had been hospitalized in September and was unable to move or put on her slippers without her son’s assistance. When confronted with the footage, the son reportedly confessed to pushing his mother. He told interrogators he had become exhausted by her prolonged illness, which had also caused frequent arguments between him and his wife. He had previously claimed he was only helping his mother practice sun obeisance.

The suspect, who was the victim’s only son, was expected to be arrested following his discharge from a hospital. The victim also had two daughters.
