‘Last Chance U’ Coach Resigns After Hitler Text Surfaces

‘Last Chance U’ Coach Resigns After Hitler Text Surfaces”

A Kansas football coach who was featured on the Netflix program "Last Chance U" has resigned, days after controversial text messages were made public.

Brown posted his letter of resignation to Twitter yesterday stating that it would be impossible for him to continue at the college in the wake of the recent scandal.

The original story and allegations came last week in the Montgomery County Chronicle - a weekly newspaper covering a small region in southeast Kansas - and later took the Internet by storm. The texts from the coach to the German born student said that he was his new Hitler.

In his resignation letter, Brown wrote that "it would be almost impossible" to stay at Independence Community College because the article in the Montgomery County Chronicle that first brought the story to light "has greatly diminished my ability to successfully do my job, and has set this program back significantly, and the cumulative effect of all these detrimental factors I believe clearly constitute a constructive discharge of my employment".

ICC president Daniel Barwick is yet to comment on Brown's resignation but previously told KOAM News that the text messages were unacceptable.

"As a college, we should be defined by the outstanding educational quality and value we create for our students, and we believe we can move past this together with our community, faculty, staff and student body".

What does this mean for the rest of the Last Chance U series moving forward? Alexiou, a redshirt freshman defensive back from Dortmund, Germany, posted the exchange via social media. Brown informs Alexiou that he has "17 points" in reference to the team's disciplinary program (25 points gets you kicked off the team). "I don't care about anything else!" "The college is investigating the matter and will have no further statement at this time".

In the screenshot, Brown allegedly referred to Alexiou as "u German (expletive)" and informed the player he was being cut from the team and that his scholarship was being revoked.
