Ben Affleck plotting 'graceful and cool' Batman exit

Affleck reflected on the great chemistry the Justice League stars had with each other on set and how uncomfortable his Batman costume is before revealing why he made a decision to put the suit on in the first place. The reason is as simple as it's heartwarming; it's all for his son.

While giving an interview to a leading US publication, Affleck noted, "The new Batman movie being developed by Matt Reeves ['War for the Planet of the Apes'] is something I'm contemplating". Like all parents, Affleck wanted his child to see him as a superhero.

Literally the reason I took this movie was imagining that, you know, wearing that costume and - I have a little boy - having my son see me. After Justice League his next appearance is expected to be in the solo outing. And I brought a picture to show you. "You know, before they get too smart".

That plan may have backfired a bit, as Affleck explained to Kimmel.

It's a very cute story, which is the point. And to see that different manifestation of Batman and his whole different style. Even if the rumors that Affleck's time in the cape and cowl is coming a close sooner rather than later turn out to be false, it's been rare to see Affleck talk positively (or have fun at all) about being Batman.

Hollywood actor Ben Affleck has revealed that he is already seeking "a graceful and cool way to segue out" of the DC Extended Universe.

Affleck is also due to be Bruce Wayne and his heroic alter ego in Justice League 2 and the standalone Batman movie planned by Warner Bros. Affleck taking the role seriously fit the tone of the movie (and character) he was promoting.

The 45-year-old actor has starred as The Caped Crusader in two films so far - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the upcoming Justice League, but he also cameoed in both Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman - but admitted he doesn't know what the future holds for his character.

While Batman v Superman may have one of the most divisive superhero films of all-time, Ben Affleck's performance as Bruce Wayne / Batman was generally well-received with a large number of fans now considering his portrayal of the Dark Knight to be the greatest depiction of the character to date.
