Brian Schottenheimer Reportedly Will Be Named Seahawks Offensive Coordinator”

The Seahawks are expected to hire former Colts quarterbacks coach Brian Schottenheimer as their offensive coordinator, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter. Brian is Marty's son.

Bevell was sacked, along with offensive line coach Tom Cable, after the Seahawks went 9-7 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2011.

But it appears the Seahawks have settled on Schottenheimer.

Schottenheimer has spent the last two seasons as the quarterbacks coach in Indianapolis. He served in the position for the New York Jets (2006-11) and then again with the St. Louis Rams (2012-14).

The Georgia offense plummeted in its one year under Schottenheimer.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider was Washington's vice president of player personnel in 2001, when Schottenheimer was on the coaching staff of his father, Marty.

Kirby Smart replaced Schottenheimer with Jim Chaney.

The Jets advanced to the AFC Conference title game in 2009 and 2010 with Mark Sanchez as the quarterback and a running game that ranked first in the National Football League in 2009 and fourth in 2010 - a background that the Seahawks undoubtedly are drawn to as they attempt to revive their own lagging rushing attack. The offense fell from 8th in scoring offense in Mike Bobo's final year to 85th under Schottenheimer.

Schottenheimer has always been regarded as one of the best coaches on the Colts' staff since he arrived in 2016 to be the quaarterbacks coach.
