Palestinian shot dead in West Bank clashes with Israeli army”

A rash of "Free Ahed Tamimi" posters sponsored by the "Freedom for Palestinian Prisoners" organization planted on the sides of bus stops all over London were apparently not supposed to be there.

An Israeli military court indicted a Palestinian teen and her mother for slapping and harassing IDF soldiers standing guard in a West Bank Palestinian village.

Israeli fighter jets bombed "terror targets" in the Gaza Strip in retaliation for rocket fire at southern Israel, a military spokesperson said early on Thursday.

Ahed's mother Nariman has been charged with "incitement" for livestreaming the altercation, while her cousin Nour, who also appeared in the video, was charged with assaulting a soldier and interfering with a soldier's duties.

Prosecutors are requesting that they be kept in detention until the completion of their trial.

Ahed, 16, was arrested on December 19 after a video emerged of her slapping two Israeli soldiers in Nabi Saleh village, 20 kilometres from Ramallah.

"They built the case around her specifically to try to keep her in prison as long as they can", he said. Israeli sources did not comment on the incident. She said sentencing for such an offence is usually "much, much lighter". She was handcuffed and led by the soldiers outside to an Israeli army jeep and the family was prevented from following her outside. The soldiers then informed the family that Ahed was being arrested, without giving any reasons. She was allegedly interrogated for hours and forced to confess the crimes. She did not even receive food properly.

According to the rights group, she spent the night in the dark detention cell. Both Israelis and Palestinians consider the Holy City to be their rightful capital and the decision sparked mass anger in the Arab and Muslim world, including sometimes violent protests throughout the Israeli-occupied territories. Despite knowing that they are minor, Israeli authorities handcuff them. There are hundreds of Palestinian children jailed by Israel and frequently subject to beatings, abuse, and interrogations without parents or lawyers present in violation of the law.
